About AmerCable The American Wire and Cable Company was formed in 1899 as the cable manufacturing division of United States Steel Corporation (USX) in Worcester, Massachusetts. Its primary function back then was manufacturing mining cable for USX’s coal mines. The company moved to its present location in El Dorado , Arkansas in 1979, and was renamed AmerCable.
Today AmerCable sells cables around the world for a wide variety of industrial applications. As a global cable solutions company, AmerCable’s innovative engineers, chemists and field reps continue to create new cable products and services that provide working solutions to productivity problems. AmerCable, a privately held company, is owned primarily by its management team.
